In celebration of America’s 250th birthday, the George W. Gillemot Foundation and the Bean Space Foundation proudly present Red, White and Flight. The Fourth of July event will light up the sky with an awe-inspiring drone show synced to a live concert by the Reno Phil and elevate imaginations with an interactive expo for all ages. The event takes place from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 4, at Mackay Stadium on the À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ, Reno’s campus. The family-friendly evening is free and open to all, though advance registration is required. Lighting up the sky over Mackay Stadium, Red, White and Flight will combine an expo, drone show and concert for a can’t-miss Fourth of July event. From 6-8 p.m., attendees can explore the interactive expo with hands-on opportunities at booths from across the community. Immediately following the expo, the Reno Phil will blend patriotic traditions with iconic film scores, Broadway favorites and sweeping symphonic works in a captivating live concert. Featured vocalist Hugh Panaro, renowned for his more than 2,000 performances as the Phantom in “The Phantom of the Opera,” will perform selections from the American songbook and Broadway. The night will wrap with a drone show featuring hundreds of drones set to a finale from Reno Phil, starting around 9:45 p.m.
